Thanks to its beginnings as a railroad town, Roseville has grown up as a self-sufficient community with its own water and electric departments and phone company. The services and amenities in Placer County's largest city have attracted such major corporations as Hewlett-Packard, Oracle and NEC Electronics, Inc., thus bringing new families to the community.
Part of the expected growth is the Del Webb adult community in the northwest area of Roseville. Del Webb is building the community over a 10-year period, spending an average of $46 million a year on construction and creating jobs for more than 500 workers.
Long known as home ot the area's most famous flea market-Denio's Auction-trie city also has attracted new entertainment enterprises. Also, Roseville will boasts two major multiscreen movie complexes, giving moviegoers a total of 28 screens to choose from.
